About Us

Have you been there? An idea just pops into your head, and it sounds crazy.  It’s crazy because of how the idea just connects with you.  Everything just seems to make sense. I had that idea a few years ago, out on a 10 mile hike in the mountains.

Now, some may say that I was just tired and exhausted, but being on top of a mountain makes everything clearer. Being in the sun and with fresh air all around, I think that it puts everything into perspective.  This is where I decided to open our roaster. 

I have two great passions in life:

• Roasting coffee
• Climbing Mountains

You may be asking, what does coffee roasting have to do with climbing mountains.  The two are so intertwined it is hard to separate them.  There is nothing better than drinking a fresh cup once you conquer a peak.  Boil that water over an open fire and brewing at the peak of the world changes lives.

Roasting and climbing peaks has many things in common also.  Like patience.  It takes patience to bring out the best in a bean. 

You have to practice, practice, practice to get that perfect cup.  Same with being out in the wilderness.  You have to make sure that you are prepared and patient.  Sometimes the weather is not so great, or you have to pick your spots and time your movements. 

All of these are great when it comes to roasting.  You time it, pick your spot when your done, and prepare and document your travels.  Then you get to share the rewards with everyone.  Which swapping stories is the greatest part of a cup of coffee. 

Sure you can drink it alone, but why would you want to, when you can share it with lots of different people. Hearing what they’ve done and where they are going is one of the greatest joys of life.

And it is why we roast coffee.  It is why we want everyone to get out and find their lands to conquer.  Nature teaches everything that we want to know about ourselves.

• We roast every bean with happiness because we truly do love what we do. – Don’t think it’s real, check this out
• We want our coffee to be a shared experience. Share your favorites with others!
• Our coffee will change with what is available (but not our staple coffees), AND we only roast the highest quality green beans that we can find.
